Meet The Team

Mark Renneson is a professional pickleball coach who lives in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. He travels across North America delivering pickleball clinics and private lessons to players of all ages, skills and abilities. A former professional tennis coach, Mark began instructing pickleball shortly after learning to play it in 2014 when he founded Third Shot Sports. His understanding of the game and ability to teach in a fun, thoughtful and practical ways is what has helped him stand out internationally as a pickleball coaching expert. 

Mark is regularly found providing official broadcast commentary at major events like the US Open, USA Pickleball Nationals and for the Professional Pickleball Association. He consults pickleball organizations around the globe that are developing their coaching infrastructure and looking to implement best practices. 

In 2018 Mark and his team developed and launched the coaching education curriculum; Pickleball Coaching International with one goal in mind; to help develop great pickleball instructors. PCI began offering formal certification programming in 2020 and continues to lead the industry in coach development and education.

In 2021 Mark was named the Head of Pickleball Coaching Education for Tennis Canada, and now leads instructional courses for the organization nationwide.

While he still competes at the 5.0/Pro level, most of his on-court time is dedicated to helping people to play better. In addition to his in-person coaching, he also runs Pickleball Coaching International, The Pickleball Lab (an exclusive online PB magazine) and The Pickleball Teachers Network. He hosts the podcast Pickleball Problems, runs a pickleball YouTube channel with more than 3 million views and administers a pickleball instructor forum on Facebook. His weekly PB newsletter has more than 12,000 subscribers, and he is the author of several drill guides and instruction manuals.
